Data Center DC1000B NVMe SSD

Optimized server boot disk with M.2 NVMe and PLP interface

DC1000B data center

The Kingston DC1000B data center is a high-performance SSD PCIe drive with an M.2 (2280) NVMe interface that uses the latest Gen 3.0 x 4 PCIe interface and 64-layer 3D TLC NAND memory. The DC1000B offers data centers a cost-effective boot disk solution with the assurance that they are purchasing an SSD for server use. The DC1000B is ideal for use in high-volume rack servers as an internal boot unit and for use in purpose-built systems where a high-performance M.2 SSD is required, which includes built-in power failure protection (PLP).

Bootable SSD with NVMe interface for enterprise data centers
SSDs with the M.2 NVMe interface are developed within the data center and ensure efficiency in starting servers so as to preserve valuable front disk shafts for data storage. Whitebox and OEM Tier 1 server manufacturers are beginning to equip their server motherboards with one, sometimes two, M.2 slots for boot purposes. While the M.2 version was originally designed as a client version of an SSD, its small physical size and high performance are also interesting for use on servers. Not all SSDs are created the same, and using an SSD client on the server can result in poor, unbalanced performance.

Use

Boot disks are used primarily to boot the operating system, but in many applications today, the boot disk also has a secondary purpose: logging application data, or it can be configured as a high-speed local cache drive. Therefore, the DC1000B is designed with additional durability (0.5 DWPD for 5 years) to handle operating system tasks as well as additional caching and data logging workloads. In addition to being designed for long-term reliability, the DC1000B is designed to provide balanced, enterprise-class performance and low latency that is not typically found in client SSDs. Available in 240 and 480 GB *.

• SSD PCIe disk with M.2 (2280) NVMe interface, Gen 3.0 x 4 interface, performance
• NVMe interface for server startup tasks
• Capacities optimized for specific applications (240 and 480 GB) keep costs down
• Built-in power failure protection (PLP)
• Self-encrypting disc (SED) with 256-bit AES-XTS encoding

* Part of the stated capacity of the Flash storage device is used for formatting and other functions and is therefore not available as storage space. Therefore, the own capacity available for data storage is lower than the capacity indicated on the products.
