6Gb / s 2.5 "SATA SSD to 3.5" Adapter (for dual controller devices) The QDA-SA2 adapter is designed for dual controller servers and QNAP Enterprise ZFS NAS, and allows the use of 2.5 "SATA 6Gb / s SSD in disk bay for 3.5 "SAS. It can be installed in a QNAP NAS or server (Windows®, Linux®) to provide the capacity to replace an expensive SAS drive with a more affordable, yet powerful SATA SSD. SAS has two redundancy ports, so it eliminates individual points of failure and enables higher reliability and performance. Although SATA 6Gb / s SSDs provide high performance and available storage, due to the lack of dual-port support, they are unsuitable for dual-controller environments. When installing a QDA-SA2 SATA SSD on a dual-controller Enterprise ZFS NAS or on a dual-controller server, the SATA SSD can share these benefits of two SAS ports to provide a highly available, fault-tolerant enterprise storage environment.
