Ubiquiti Wave MLO5 is a high-performance WiFi 7 device featuring dual 5GHz radios to enhance throughput and provide reliable connectivity in PtP mode. In addition to 10G Ethernet with PoE support, the device is also equipped with one SFP+ port. On the top side, there are two RP-SMA connectors for wireless transmission and one SMA connector for connecting a GPS antenna. Thanks to its unified design, it is compatible with airMAX, airFiber X, UISP Dish, and UISP Horn antennas. A compatible adapter from RF Elements is also available for use with antennas featuring TwistPort. The manufacturer specifies a throughput of 5+ Gbps and a maximum range of up to 100 km. Throughput and range may vary depending on local regulatory conditions and environmental factors.

The first radio supports channel widths of 20, 40, 80, and 160 MHz, while the second radio adds an additional 240 MHz channel. The operating frequency range is 5180 - 5320, 5500 - 5700, and 5745 - 5825 MHz. A high level of security is ensured through WPA3-PSK encryption.

The maximum power consumption is 20W, and the unit is powered by a 54V / 0.56A PoE adapter with 10G Ethernet, which is included in the package. The unit supports a power input range of 22-27V and 44-54V.

MLO (Multi-Link Operation) Technology)

This is an advanced feature that allows compatible WiFi 7 clients to simultaneously connect to multiple wireless frequencies broadcast by a single access point. Unlike traditional WiFi, which uses only one frequency band (2.4, 5, or 6 GHz) at a time, MLO enables clients to connect to multiple frequencies and select the optimal one for data transmission. Clients make this decision based on latency, throughput, or connection stability.
